THE KINDNESS WAVE

Hello,


Happy Wednesday, another day of hunkering down – day 23nd for Dan and I.

How have you been!!



Last night we went out to see the biggest full moon of the year. Yes, it was so bright and shining over us. It was like protecting us and saying don’t worry everything will be alright.



Being confined and staying healthy is a whole new concept for us. We are usually exploring and checking out areas that we have not been to. Since we moved to Virginia, we had plans to travel to towns and the green way that surround us. However, with this isolation and staying home we will have to put it off for a while.



For now, we walk for an hour, we read, putting puzzles together, blogging, editing, cooking, ordering on line instead of going to the grocery store, ordering take out to be delivered and doing regular household chores. I thought the other day of a way to give back to others and let them know we are thinking of them. Ten years ago; I was making homemade cards and have some remaining, this is the perfect time to use them. While everyone is hunkering down, a homemade card would just lighten up their world. When was the last time you made a homemade card or even received one? My daughter along with my grandson always sends me one. They are treasures and up lift our spirits.




You know that wonderful, warm-fuzzy feeling that comes over you when someone goes out of his or her way to spoil you, feed you, treat you, welcome you, bless you, support you or help you out? The feeling is gratitude, and it feels even better when you express it!



A homemade card or note of thanks is one of the most heartfelt and meaningful ways to express gratitude. Maybe you can’t repay your recipient for the nice thing he or she has done, but you can reflect the thoughtfulness with the time and care you put into writing and sending a warm, gracious thank-you card or note.


Going out of your way by just saying I’m thinking of you, especially during this standstill time will uplift and brighten someone. So, I challenge you to do the same and send a homemade card to a friend, family member, and maybe someone on the front line. Just three a week, can make a difference in the world. It starts with you.


An act of kindness through a card brings hope, love, peace, happiness and joy. Sending a card helps in benefiting you sometimes by laughter. Laughter can have amazing health benefits ranging from lowering the risk of heart attacks to affecting diabetes. In this day and age of so many medical breakthroughs, who would have thought something so simple like laughter could be so beneficial to a person's health?



If you know someone who is sick or chronically ill, send them a humorous greeting card! You will be amazed at how much this can improve their overall health and your own. By sending a funny card to anyone, whether they are sick or not, you are boosting their emotional and physical well-being and at the same time, doing the same for your own well-being.


So, giggle, belly laugh or laugh until your sides hurt and you are out of breath! Send funny homemade cards to everyone you know on occasion and be assured that you are boosting your own health, as well as those you love!
