CONTINUING THE SERIES OF QUOTES ABOUT LIVING / ONE’S MIND SET/POSITIVE THINKING

Hello followers,

Hurray it’s finally the weekend. Weather is good, just a little bit of rain in the forecast in Roanoke. How’s the weather where you are?

Let’s all have a positive outlook this weekend, this will cause a chain reaction in positive thoughts, events and outcomes. Enjoy, this is Dan’s and my positive word for today. What is your positive word for Saturday?

Today I’m going to continue blogging on the topic of common sense! There are very few things that are more refreshing than knowing you have made the right decision. Life brings challenges and some of the greatest stresses in life come from the decisions that we have to make.

That is why our brain creates habits to reduce the stress of decision making. When our discernment and common sense are accurate, it allows us to consistently make the right decision.

Correct decisions reduce stress which in turn creates more refreshing moments. So, you see this is why I have been posting a series of common sense, for not having common sense causes health hazards.

Bad decisions can create even worse situations and problems. Often the wrong decisions can put us in dangerous places. There can be times that our life can be put in danger, but more often our poor decisions affect other areas. Poor decisions often jeopardize our family, our finances and our reputation. Correct decisions help protect these things. Discernment and common-sense bring protection and safety to the decision-making process.

Have you ever been unable to sleep because you were afraid of the consequences of a decision you had made?

Yes, I have!

Maybe you were afraid of facing the turmoil of tomorrow and it robbed you of rest in the night.

Decision making processes that include discernment and common sense allow us to rest easy at night. It does not mean that difficulties do not arise. It simply means that we are secure in the decisions we have made and can rest knowing that we have created the best possible scenario for the correct outcome.

We all know that lack of sleep could cause health issues!

Disasters come in life no matter how good you are at making decisions. There are some things that are just out of your control. Science has never been able to control hurricanes, tornadoes or other natural disasters. It can however help us prepare for them. The same is true of common sense and discernment. While they will never be able to eliminate disasters from your life, they can help you prepare for them and remove the fear associated with problems that seem to devastate others.

Common sense and discernment are valuable tools. They are valuable treasures that will offer you benefits in every decision that you make. Protect them as you would other treasures. Discernment and common sense will pay dividends your entire life.

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

INTUITION

Intuition is the only sense our minds argue with. Maybe it’s because it isn’t globally accepted as a sense yet, but things sure do change when we see it for what it is.

Can you imagine arguing with your other senses? What you’d miss, what you’d do and wouldn’t do?

It seems silly, but it would be like hearing the phone ring and thinking, that phone’s not really ringing. Or seeing a car driving straight toward you and thinking, Hmmm, I see a car coming straight toward me; but maybe I ought to just stand here anyway.

ONE’S MIND SET/POSITIVE THINKING

Continuing from yesterday, with improving your life starts with improving your mindset.

A great quality for improving your mindset is taking time to relax. Oftentimes, we get wrapped up in negativity because we are stressed, overwhelmed, frustrated or angry. When we allow ourselves time to relax and recoup, we can find space to tackle problems with a positive attitude. Set aside time every day for yourself to do something relaxing, whether that’s reading a book, watching your favorite TV show, or talking on the phone with a friend.

Dan and I meditate or do Qigong, we spend a few minutes taking some deep breaths. We do this on a regular basis each day.

Another way Dan and I improve our mindset is, doing activities that we are good at. Dan has been putting a model airplane together along with taking a typing course on line, and editing this blog. I’m blogging, enjoying indoor gardening, some arts and craft projects.

Frustration and negativity often occur because we feel a lack of efficiency, or a lack of success for our efforts. A productive response is to do something you are good at. When you feel good about your abilities, your mindset will improve in the positive direction. Increase how often you do your favorite activities.

When you do an activity you like, you will get positive energy from this because you can see your progress. This positive energy will then influence how you feel about other projects.

Dan and I try to avoid media that causes negative thinking. Research shows that negative thinking is supported by media with negative comparisons. If you notice media making you feel negative, one approach is to avoid that media. If you found yourself frequently comparing yourself to a certain model or athlete, avoid magazines, shows, or games that feature them.

It's very important to have humor in your life. My favorite movies on TV are comedies. When Dan turns on Netflix’s or Hulu and ask what I want to see, I say comedy. Having fun and laughing can boost your mood and increase your positive reactions to things and people.

Attend a comedy show, watch comedy television, or read a book of jokes. This will help build a sense of humor that is associated with playfulness and positivity.

DITCH THE TOXICS

Toxic friends are tricky to identify. They can be lovely people who can be lots of fun, exciting and even very thoughtful. But they have one standout factor, which is their ability to make you feel terrible about yourself on occasion.

This toxic behavior can come in different forms, whether it’s putting you down in front of others, saying upsetting things when you’re alone or maybe not inviting you to a party.

Whether they mean to do it or not is irrelevant; the fact they leave you hurting means you need to consider if you want this person in your life.

I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness. By Hunter S. Thompson

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).
