Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you.

Happy Sunday,

The other day I was going through some of the books that I kept from years ago.

There is this one that my mom gave me in December of 1993. I picked the book up and started to read it, its worth reading again – ILLUSIONS - The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah - the glorious best seller by Richard Bach.

Learning is finding out what you already know. Doing is demonstrating that you know it. Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners, doers and teachers.

We begin life with the world presenting itself to us as it is. Someone--our parents, teachers, analysts--hypnotizes us to "see" the world and construe it in the "right" way. These others label the world, attach names and give voices to the beings and events in it, so that thereafter, we cannot read the world in any other language or hear it saying other things to us. The task is to break the hypnotic spell, so that we become undeaf, unblind, and multilingual, thereby letting the world speak to us in new voices and write all its possible meaning in the new book of our existence.

Good day Sunday🚦the first step to a new beginning is imagining that one is even possible🌇

As I blog about vitamins and the benefits concerning cancer and prevention; my quest is to gear you to seek a professional in functional medicine. The reason is, they are experts in reading lab work to see what you are lacking and also will help you get to the root of your condition.

Today I will be blogging on selenium, in regards to the blogging that was written last Wednesday. You can slash your risk of getting cancer by 50% by taking three vitamins and one mineral every day as per the world cancer experts. There is no question that certain vitamins A, C, E and the mineral selenium can help prevent cancer states Dr. Raymond J. Shamberger, PhD, of the Cleveland Clinic, which is a top research facility.

Laboratory studies show selenium is a powerful antioxidant that can inhibit the growth of breast, cervical, colon, and skin cancer; promotes cancer cell death, acts as a protective agent against many types of cancer and improves quality of life during aggressive cancer therapies.

Most American diets include only a fraction of the recommended dose of 200 micrograms a day. Disease and treatment by the Life Extension Foundation estimates most Americans get a little as 60 to 100 micrograms of selenium daily.

Taken in conjunction with vitamins C, E and beta-carotene, selenium works to block the chemical reactions that create DNA-damaging free radicals responsible for the cell degeneration that leads to cancer.

Selenium contributes to cell death of cancerous and pre-cancer cells, plus prevents the reproduction of damaged DNA molecules which in turn inhibits tumor development and formation. Evidence suggests that selenium is a mineral essential to helping stop cancer before it gets started.

The protective effect of selenium can be accounted for in several ways. Selenium inhibits the formation of DNA-damaging free radicals through the activation of the enzyme glutathione peroxides. In addition, selenium in concert with vitamin E inhibits tumor growth while regulating cell lifespan. A function that inhibits the ability of cells to become immortal i.e. malignant. When this happens, abnormal cell proliferation can quite literally invade the entire body damaging healthy tissue. For patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, selenium may be useful in slowing this progression.
