REBOOTING AND PAUSING CREATING BETTER SPEED

Hello,

Dan and I had to reboot our lives since the corona virus and have been hunkering down for 53 days. Like most of the world, we had to adopt to changes and pause.

Although, we do go out for a walk around our complex; we have not stepped into a grocery store. We have been ordering everything on line. Relying on the mail service, Fed-ex and UPS for essentials is all new for Dan and I. I’m getting to be an expert on the apps in which I have to order on.

This is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page!

I’m sure it is the first page of many people’s lives. The whole world is rebooting and pausing for the new change. Following the social distancing and wearing masks, we are creating better speed in which to live. Some are reopening businesses and beaches, while others are still in a lock down.

Everyone has wished at some point or another that life came with a reboot button. We’re all familiar with the term “reboot” when it comes to computers. Rebooting is a troubleshooting method: when your computer is giving you trouble—for example, a program locks up or is simply not responding–you shut it down and restart it. In addition, a common way to reboot your computer is to press down on the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys simultaneously.

Sometimes an area of your life—or perhaps more than one—has gone completely off track and makes you feel bogged down and like you just can’t move forward. If this is the case, instead of making small changes here and there, you may want to wipe the slate clean and simply restart in that area of your life. Here are some ways in which your life may need a reboot:

Reboot Your Diet

If you’ve been eating unhealthy foods for a long period of time, you probably need to reboot your diet. It’s a lifestyle change!

Reboot Your Wardrobe

This probably sounds familiar to a lot of people, and not just women. If this sounds like you, then you need to reboot your wardrobe.

Reboot A Room

If you feel like you’re going to drown in stuff every time that you enter your house, get a fresh start by rebooting a room. Choose a room of your house in which you spend a lot of time.

Reboot on a Retreat

We all need to get away from it all from time to time, especially when we start to experience burn out. Chronic stress can make you feel exhausted–emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Reboot Your Internal Clock

If your sleep cycle is out of whack– you need to restart, or reboot, your internal clock.

Reboot Your Calendar

If you find that your calendar and daily schedule are jam-packed with activities and commitments, most of which fill you with dread, then it’s time to reboot your calendar. Sit down with a blank sheet of paper and start re-creating your calendar from scratch.

Reboot Your Finances

If financial stress is keeping you down, you need to reboot your finances.

Reboot Your Goals

How are you doing on the resolutions that you set at the start of the year? If the answer is “not well”, then you need to reboot your goals.

One-Hour-A-Day Reboot

You can get a fresh start each day–that is, reboot every morning–in just one-hour-a-day. Regardless of what may have happened the day before, you can start each morning with a clean slate.

Extreme Reboot

Sometimes life goes so severely off course that we need an extreme reboot, such as quitting your job, or filing for divorce, or selling everything that you own, and moving.

Only you can decide if such drastic measures are necessary. However, more often than not by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys in one or two areas of your life, all other areas will start to fall into place.

Since we are on the topic of REBOOTING AND PAUSING CREATING BETTER SPEED, on May 6th it was National Nurses Day. I would like to give thanks to each and every one that are on the line during this uncertain time. They and all the first responders have put their lives on the line for us.

Today, I’m honoring all nurses and thank them from the bottom of my heart for being there for us. There is this one special one that inspired me 9 ½ years ago. It is as clear as day as it was when I was in the hospital in Mexico for cancer treatments. The story goes like this, I was 52 years old and could not take any pills. Since I was a kid, when ever I had to take medicine it would be in liquid form. I never had to take a single pill until Mexico. It was not just a couple pills, oh no; it was 97 pills a day.

There was this one nurse that took the time with me, and came in my room one day with a cup of ice cubes. He said, “let the ice melt a little and then drink the ice-cold water while swallowing the pills.” I did and it worked!! To this day I’m so blessed that he passed through my life. Today, I’m thankful to be able to take pills for it’s a big part of my managing cancer, but thank goodness I no longer take 97 pills.

Where ever you are thanking you.
