MY JOURNEY ~ SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

As I am awaking this morning, I just took a moment of reflection.

It came to me that this year is almost half way over and it took me by surprise that my journey will go on.

I learned a lot this year from awesome professionals and through a lot of reading.

I met a lot of amazing people along the way.

I gained the understanding of gratitude and passion.

You see I was not just struck by cancer, but it gave me a higher understanding on life.

Why we are here in the first place.

Through the people that I have ran across this year, it was clear to me what I want to do.

It is to spread the passion that I received and let people know that we have choices when it comes to treatment.

The world is a big place and other countries are using treatments that have been working for years.

In reflecting on the past year, I have put together a movie with all what I have been through with Somewhere Over the Rainbow as the music.

I have picked that song because we do have a choice in our lives and the results can give you the quality of life that was meant for us.

God created our bodies with natural surroundings for us, why have we changed it and made it to harm us?

We need to educate ourselves and change our environment with what we eat and drink.

Then we need to stop and smell the roses!

In researching and going through Functional Medicine for my cancer treatment, I realize that under our noses there is a cure for cancer and it is really simple.

IT STARTS BY CHANGING OUR ENVIRONMENT!!!

This change is not painful and we do not lose any part of our bodies, I know for I have been doing it and it works.

To some it up in a couple of words, we have a cure for cancer it’s to change our environment and we need to educate ourselves.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Judy Garland - Somewhere over the rainbow lyric

Way up high,

There's a land that I heard of

Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Skies are blue,

And the dreams that you dare to dream

Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star

And wake up where the clouds are far

Behind me.

Where troubles melt like lemon drops

Away above the chimney tops

That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Bluebirds fly.

Birds fly over the rainbow.

Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly

Beyond the rainbow

Why, oh why can't I?

We can fly, just educate yourself and the dream for a cure will come true.

My wish upon a star came true, my cancer is managed.

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

SELF-WORTH

Don’t let the worst people get the best of you.

Save this for the best people instead.

If a mean person doesn’t like you for no reason, remember this.

Your purpose here on Earth is not to try to win the approval of mean people.

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?

Left-handed living in a right-handed world, with difficulty goes back as far as medieval times, left handedness was an undesirable and at times, feared quality.

Left-handers were routinely accused of consorting with the devil and, during the witch hunts of the 15th and 16th Century, left-handedness was sometimes considered sufficient to identify a woman as a witch, and to contribute to her subsequent condemnation and execution.

The influential 19th Century physician Cesare Lambroso, who identified various facial and racial characteristics with criminal traits, turned his attention to handedness at the end of the century and he identified left-handedness as a mark of pathological behavior, savagery and criminality.

It was not until Paul Broca’s discoveries about the lateralization of the brain in the 1860s that scientific interest in handedness began, and some simplistic studies were carried out towards the end of the 19th Century.

Discriminatory practices and attitudes against left-handers persisted well into the 20th Century with psychoanalyst Abram Blau suggesting that left-handedness was the result of emotional negativism.

He claimed that left-handed adults became stubborn, rebellious, rigid and (for some reason) obsessed with cleanliness.

Around the same time, the influential British educational psychologist Cyril Burt was also describing left-handers as “stubborn and willful” as well as “awkward” and “clumsy”.

It was only in the Post-War years, under the influence of John Dewy’s progressive education movement, that a certain amount of tolerance for individual differences and non-conformity developed.

Even then, as late as the 1960s and 1970s, Catholic school teachers in particular routinely inflicted corporal punishment and psychological pressure on left-handed students.

Some eastern European countries made right-handed writing compulsory in school and in Albania, left-handedness was actually declared illegal and was punishable as a crime!

Even today, where we consider ourselves to be more open minded, parents and teachers may encourage children to use their right hand more, maybe as a way to help them in a world which is primarily designed for light handed living and it’s not uncommon to hear left-handed people referred to as ‘cack handed’ so we still have some way to go in terms of accepting left handedness.

So, you see left-handers like me; have had to live knowing that we are different.

Generally speaking, left-handers are defined as people who write with their hand, although some may use either hand for some tasks (ambidextrous) or prefer different hands for different tasks (mixed).

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

THROUGH PICTURES

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

WITH PICTURES

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

31 PICTURES - ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 8; HANDLING FRAZZLED EMOTIONS.

Today continuing on, know your limits-

Confusion and conflicting emotions are enmeshed in difficult relationships.

Gratitude should not be confused with turning your adult decisions over to someone else to make.

Knowing your boundaries and setting your limits will keep your emotions from taking over.

There is no best way to handle the emotions that spin off difficult people, there is one wrong way; stuffing your feelings.

Having limits helps you know when to express what you feel.

Continue tomorrow -

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of NETTLE. It’s amazing what and how nettle can help keep your body healthy?

Wow, nettle is excellent as skin care!

Remember how Dan and I mentioning in previous post that stinging nettle is good for skin health?

We weren’t exaggerating.

It’s actually one of the greatest natural treatments for your skin due to the composition of stinging nettle.

You might be wondering how it can be good for your skin when Dan and I started out with a warning that the hairs on the leaves can cause irritation if you come into contact with it.

Well, despite the irony, it’s very true that stinging nettle can work wonders for your skin.

It’s even the antidote to the side effects it may cause.

If your skin is irritated by the nettle hairs then just grind the leaves then proceed to boil them in water then voila, you have the cure.

It’s also great for more common problems such as the nicks you get while shaving as well as more general skin itchiness.

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!

Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!
