CONTINUING SERIES ON BELIEVING AND SERIES OF HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO KEEP OUR BODY CELLS HAPPY

Hello Followers,

Well, we are half way through the week! How is it going for you? We wake up each morning with a brand-new outlook and strive to make this day better then the last.

Dan and I every once in a while, will go back in time and say if only, we did somethings different.

But you know, you can’t go back; only forward. Making mistakes is part of being human. From not spending enough time with loved ones, to making a decision on selling a house, we all have regrets. The trick is to learn from past missteps and move on. Don’t let regret get you down.

My Way (Remastered 2008)

Elvis Presley - My Way (Aloha From Hawaii, Live in Honolulu, 1973)

What comes to my mind when I hear the word regrets, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley sang; I DID IT MY WAY. The verse; Regrets, I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption. And they both did it their way. This to me means that we all do what we have to do to survive. So, I look at my past as no regrets, but just memories and lessons.

GO FOR IT!

Have you been keeping your cells happy this week! New research shows that a healthful diet can maintain the health and youth of cells. Eating fruits and vegetables keeps cells healthy and young.

While we typically measure our age in years, the true mark of biological aging is cellular aging. In other words, the DNA of our cells can tell us how much our bodies have aged.

The ends of our chromosomes are the best indicators of cellular aging. Called telomeres, these structures are made of DNA strands and proteins. Every time a cell divides, telomeres shorten until the cell is senescent and dies. Therefore, the length of the telomeres is the best indicator of how old a cell is.

While the shortening of telomeres is a natural process, accumulated damage in cells can speed up this process and lead to the premature death of cells. Damaged cells and shorter telomere length have been associated with chronic diseases and cancer.

Some of the factors that damage the cells are environmental and “modifiable,” meaning you can do something about them. These include diet, exposure to ultraviolet rays, alcohol consumption, and lifestyle (more stress can speed up cellular aging, while exercise keeps your cells younger).

3 Qi Gong Exercises for Anti-Aging (and the Benefits of Qi Gong for Seniors)

Discover three anti-aging Qi Gong exercises for seniors. Learn what Qi Gong is and the philosophy of Qi Gong as it relates to aging.

Qi Gong is called “The art of preventing disease and prolonging life.”

Qi means energy. It’s your life-force energy.

When Qi flows through you, the natural result is health and longevity.

Qi Gong helps you increase the flow of Qi through your body.

Qi Gong is mindfulness in motion. Think of it as a moving meditation practice. The movements are done slowly, with intention and awareness.

In this video, you’ll learn a couple of Qi Gong exercises for seniors (or anyone, really) that one can use to promote longevity and reverse aging.

The first is called Spinal Cord breathing.

This exercise helps your body absorb more oxygen. It clears out stiffness, tightness, and tension in the back.

The second is a movement Lee Holden learned from a woman in China who was 106 years old… and taught ten classes a week.

It’s called “Swimming Dragon.”

This exercise helps massage the muscles in your upper back and neck, clearing tension and tightness. Do this exercise for a few minutes each day to cultivate resilience in your body and mind.

The final exercise is “Pulling Down the Heavens.”

This exercise pulls in energy from the natural world around you. You’ll feel waves of relaxing energy pouring through your body, from your head all the way to your feet.

After these three exercises, you should feel a lightness. You might feel a tingling sensation in your hands and fingers.

SIMPLE JOYS

Treat yourself to some new stationary. There’s something about a shiny new notebook and pen that can put you in the mind for starting new projects. A fresh blank page can be just the motivation you need to write that all important to do list.

TREAT YOURSELF

You don’t have to break the bank, but if you’ve saved some money from turning down a social invite, why not invest that cash in yourself? A colorful bouquet of flowers, a cheery coffee mug or a snazzy new shirt will give you an extra lift and definitely help you feel the joy of missing out.

As I continue to be re-reading my book that I wrote four years ago; it’s a personal journey of my everyday experience with treatments that I received in Mexico. In relations to the current series of BELIEVING, entry from 12-22-10 to 12-23-10; THIS IS A DAY TO PRACTICE THE POWER OF CHOICE.

Finally, as you can see, the power of choice will be mine. My doctor’s office called, for they scheduled me in on 12-24-10 at 7:30 a.m. with the surgeon. The only thing I thought was that it would be Christmas Eve, and I wondered how Dan and I are going to get ready early with his foot.

JUST LESSONS

There are no regrets in life. Just lessons. #regrets#life#lessons

Danielle spoke out and said she wanted to go--so be it! During those two days, we did more research, finding different methods in other countries that treated this disease. My older sister was checking around and buying me vitamins which fought off cancer. We picked a facility that looked comfortable and was in Mexico. We had the director of the oncology department call from the facility and he explained the procedures they offered. I faxed over my reports to him, for he stated they did an assessment individually to determine what type of treatments would be best.

I liked their concept, for they took care of each individual person and did not just treat the disease.

The conversation lasted an hour and a half. It was refreshing and for the first time since I was told of the sickness, I felt a relief coming over me. He advised that another physician would get in touch with us for additional information.

Now, I am getting ready for tomorrow and Dan set the cell phone alarm for 4:30 a.m. The wheelchair was stored in the trunk. It will be dark when we take it out. We do not know what to expect.

This is a day to practice the power of choice. Choose the quality of mood you want that is, whether you'll adopt a positive or negative attitude. The choice is up to you! Your goal: to realize you do have the ability to enhance your life each day.

Did you do your walk today? Well yesterday it rained in the morning, however; the afternoon was great for a walk. We took a stroll around our neighborhood and found these beauties.

Almost made it to four miles. No excuses, here is a video, WALK AT HOME. It’s only 15 minutes and you can do it in your living room.

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. How about a recipe mixing sweet and spicy together; GARLIC HONEY.

Combining the sweet flavor of honey with the spicy, pungent flavor of garlic may seem like an unlikely combination; but it is surprising tasty. The honey also mellows out the raw heat of the garlic allowing you to enjoy it in larger amounts without getting adverse effects. This is great to use for a sore throat, take a teaspoon of it every 1 to 2 hours.

Ingredients:

½ cup fresh minced garlic

½ cup honey

Instructions:

1. Place the garlic in an 8-ounce glass jar.

2. After mincing the garlic.

3. Then let it stand for 10 to 15 minutes to allow to react with oxygen and becomes even stronger medicine.

4. Put half the honey in the jar.

5. Stir well, then add the rest of the honey in the jar.

6. Let the mixture sit for 24 hours before using.

Until Thursday, expect less, prepare more. Judge less, respect more. Complain less, thank more. Regret less, smile more.
