Forgiveness is a gift to the one who is hurting.

Hello followers,

Happy Hump Day! Yes, its Wednesday and your half way through the week. Tomorrow Dan and I will be on the road again. This time we are going down to Florida.

So, I will continue the posting; however as far as our routine daily of walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress) will be altered a little.

Today I will continue blogging on forgiveness for this is one ingredient in making a healthy lifestyle. Making forgiveness part of your life can only improve your health.

Forgiveness is a choice. You are choosing to offer compassion and empathy to the person who wronged you. There are steps that can help you develop a more forgiving attitude and benefit from better emotional and physical health.

The first step, reflect and remember. That includes the events themselves, and also how you reacted, how you felt, and how the anger and hurt have affected you since.

The second step, empathize with the other person. For instance, if your spouse grew up in an alcoholic family, then anger when you have too many glasses of wine might be more understandable.

The third step, forgive deeply. Simply forgiving someone because you think you have no other alternative or because you think your religion requires it may be enough to bring some healing.

But, one study found that people whose forgiveness came in part from understanding that no one is perfect, were able to resume a normal relationship with the other person, even if that person never apologized. Those who only forgave in an effort to salvage the relationship wound up with a worse relationship.

The fourth step, let go of expectations. An apology may not change your relationship with the other person or elicit an apology from her. If you don’t expect either, you won’t be disappointed.

The fifth, decide to forgive. Once you make that choice, seal it with an action. If you don’t feel you can talk to the person who wronged you, write about your forgiveness in a journal or even talk about it to someone else in your life whom you trust.

The sixth step, forgive yourself. The act of forgiving includes forgiving yourself. For instance, if your spouse had an affair, recognize that the affair is not a reflection of your worth.

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

FORGIVENESS

One of the biggest obstacles to forgiveness is dealing with loss. Something is lost that sometimes might be regained, but most often it is lost forever.

Forgiveness means, first, acceptance of how things are today, not how they might have been if only that person had acted differently, but how they really are today.

Once you can focus your attention on what you have today, not what you no longer have, you will have made a giant leap toward true forgiveness.

SIMPLE JOYS

Invite your friend over for dinner. Make a fuss of them by cooking their favorite food, lay the table nicely, maybe even get some fresh flowers or a plant for a decoration.

They’ll feel cherished and you in turn will feel buoyed by making someone else happy.

2015-FERIA MAESTROS de ARTE AT CLUB de YATES de CHAPALA

Last Saturday Dan and I experienced the talented art work of Mexico. We not only seen fine art, but the culture of Mexico through them. Before today we did not know that there was a yacht club here in Chapala. The atmosphere was very peaceful and the scenery was breath taking with the music of the Mariachi Femenil Mujer Latina playing in the background.

Club de Yates de Chapala was inaugurated in 1960. Many of the original Guadalajaran and local families who were members when the Club opened, are still members today. Whereas the level of water in the lake was once in peril, Lake Chapala has rebounded due to several years of heavy rainfall, a local group Los Amigos del Lago applying for and being granted membership in Living

Lakes (a non-governmental worldwide project to save lakes), and other intervention on the lake's behalf.

Located on the shore of Lake Chapala, Club de Yates de Chapala's beautiful facility includes boat launching and storage, restaurant, swimming pool, soccer field, and beautiful grounds.

Whereas, a few years ago, you would not have seen pleasure boats on the lake, today the boat tours to Mexcala and Alacran Islands are up and running from the Chapala pier, and members of the yacht club regularly take out their sailboats, etc. to enjoy the lake.

Comodoro (commodore) Juan Luis de Limelette Farah is dedicated to bringing culture and new members to the yacht club. The Feria was delighted when in 2007 this facility became the new home for Feria Maestros del Arte. The hope is to be there for many years to come. The location is a beautiful one with all the white tents set up against the backdrop of Lake Chapala.

The folk and indigenous art available at this show is diverse and there are no middle-man prices because the artists pay nothing to attend the show - no booth fee, no percentage of sales, they are housed with local families and fed while at the show. The artists are very grateful to the Club de Yates de Chapala for allowing them to use their facility.

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. Continuing blogging on the herb - PARSLEY. Parsley can be used in many different ways to support almost every aspect of your health. Yesterday the topic ended with how parsley eases menstruation and helps in freshening up your breath? Today I’m blogging that parsley is a natural diuretic.

Edema, or water retention, can occur for many reasons. People that injure their joints find that they develop localized swelling around the area. This swelling occurs due to an increase in fluids and inflammation around the joint to prevent further injury.

However, some people may find that the swelling spreads from the original site, increasing inflammation in other areas. An example would be a person that experiences a knee injury.

They have localized swelling at the knee, which may spread down the leg to the ankle and foot, resulting in fluid accumulation in the lower limbs.

Edema may also lead to the development of other, more severe symptoms. Accumulation of body fluids and water around the heart may increase blood pressure in the patient, putting them at risk of a cardiovascular event.

Eating parsley can help flush the excess water from your body, reducing the signs of edema.

The anti-inflammatory properties of the herb also help to reduce swelling and inflammation, allowing damaged joints and ligaments to heal faster.

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

Yesterday’s walk was nice along the Virginia Greenway with a breeze and 72F.

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!! Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!

Also, meditation videos, help to lower stress and is also one of the first steps to making your cells happy; click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/meditation .Again, they are no more than 10 to 20 mins and they are guided meditations.

“Surrender is a gift that you can give yourself. It’s an act of faith. It’s saying that even though I can’t see where this river is flowing, I trust it will take me in the right direction.” ~ Debbie Ford

Calm Your Distracted or Overthinking Mind / Mindfulness Meditation / Mindful Movement

Enjoy this guided mindfulness meditation. When your mind is busy and full of thoughts, and you find yourself distracted, you may notice it doesn’t work to simply tell your mind to stop thinking.

In fact, the expectation of a mind free of thoughts is impossible. This resistance to the experience of thoughts may even cause them to show up more frequently and seem louder.

In this practice, I will guide you to practice shifting your attention to the quiet part of your mind, rather than expecting the noisy part of your mind to simply stop. Imagine expecting the chaos and noise of a party to simply stop because you wanted quiet. Instead, you would leave the chaos rather than asking the it to stop.

We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash # tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!

SORRY 💝

Forgiveness is a gift to the one who is hurting. #forgiveness #gift #hurting #sorry #inspirational #motivational

Until Thursday, until we can forgive, we remain locked in our pain and locked out of the possibility of experiencing healing and freedom, locked out of the possibility of being at peace.
