Moderation is the key of lasting enjoyment.
CONTINUING THIS WEEK ON SERIES MODERATION IS THE KEY TO LIFE AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. BONUS ON HAPPINESS!
Hello Followers,
As I was getting out of bed this morning, I realized that tomorrow will start the weekend again.
Looking forward to Friday, for our downtown is going to have a Christmas parade and I believe we are going.
Yay!
And you know what that means the countdown to CHRISTMAS is 16 days.
Remember the list, Dan and I started blogging about Monday?
The key to moderation is awareness, when we start becoming aware of one thing, our senses will open up to something new for moderation every day.
And another awareness to moderation, cutting the meat into smaller pieces.
This is the best trick to reduce the amount of meat we eat without going into vegetarianism or veganism.
It’s really that simple, cut the meat up.
If we have a slab of grass-fed steak, it will take a lot more grams for us to feel the volume.
That’s why American portions are so big because the cuisine itself inherently enjoys things whole.
A whole lobster on the grill, a whole bread for clam chowder, corn on the cob, there are many examples.
But other cuisines, for example, the Japanese one, has a tendency to cut a small amount of meat into small chunks.
This creates volume without increasing the portion.
They also tend to use a lot of vegetables and grains to complement the meat.
Simple tricks to reduce meat intake, going vegan or vegetarian can be so difficult that we end up giving it up and feeling guilty.
Don’t feel bad!
Dan and I tend to share our piece of grass-fed steak, salmon, chicken and have more vegetables.
What about this one, no cheat day.
I am sure some of the training regimes formed by some of the fitness experts work.
But it works doesn’t mean it’s good and sustainable.
I have struggled with my body image as I have gotten older, but recently, from going to the gym and walking in nature, I was able to compare and become conscious of how I can live healthily sustainably.
Dan and I exercise very differently, so from trying his style, I know more about mine and it helps me to build my own regime.
Here are a few questions you can ask:
Endurance or explosive?
Dan can run on the treadmill for an hour, but I have to do it for at least 2 miles.
But if there are more variations (like changing inclines and speed) I can do it in an hour.
So don’t blame yourself if you can’t do a bloody marathon, endurance is not for everyone.
Exercise or sports?
City people tend to hit the gym, but some find it very dull.
What if you actually enjoy sweating better in team sports or martial arts training?
Peas or protein shake?
Diet and exercise go hand in hand.
I hate peas, so if you feed me a salad with peas, I will not be satisfied and end up with oatmeal ice cream.
But if I drink protein smoothies with berries, I feel so good that I can last till the next meal.
It really is what works for you, not what other people say.
Exercise every day or once a week?
Cheat days are misleading for some people, it gives me an excuse to be ridiculous and I end up going overboard.
So, Dan and I walk almost every day and eat moderately healthy every day.
We then also apply other moderations, such as eating only half a coco bar, or cutting meat in half to split between us to keep our life interesting.
As Dan and I prepare for the holidays, I will end on the series of HOW SAFE IS MEXICO and shorten the blog post a little for the coming year.
However, there is a page where I have some pictures and videos:
Another way to capture the safety of Mexico, is go on the main page of the BLOG and look for the hash tag# MEXICO on the right side of the page, and all the blog post on HOW SAFE IS MEXICO THROUGH PICTURES AND VIDEO’S will pop up.
Ended the series on THE SIX SENSES AND YOUR WELL-BEING, to review this topic, you can also go to the main BLOG and hash tag# SIXSENSES on the right of the age, and all the post related to that topic will pop up.
101 WAYS TO HAPPINESS; by Mike Annesley.
Since all the research of keeping healthy, leads to making your cells happy; this book will help your mental health to be happy.
That is the first step in keeping your cells happy and keeping your body healthy.
CHAPTER 2; HAPPILY, PEACEFUL
A SIMPLE BREATH MEDITATION
1. Sit comfortably in a kitchen or dinning chair, feet flat, legs uncrossed.
2. Let your gaze fall about a meter (yard) in front of you, on the floor. Rest your hands on your thighs, palms down.
3. Relax body and mind, keeping alert.
4. Focus on your breath, the rise and fall of your belly; or air entering and leaving your nostrils.
5. If your attention wanders, gently bring it back, without judging yourself for inattention.
6. Finish after about 5 minutes. If you wish, use a timer.
How many are you out there are left-handers?
I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.
WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?
DID YOU KNOW that in southpaw Michelangelo’s famous sculpture of David, the sling used to kill Goliath is held in David’s left hand?
The statue is meant to show David after he has made the decision to fight Goliath but before the battle has actually taken place.
Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown.
Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy.
A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 11; MAKE ANGER YOUR ALLY
Anger is pervasive in screwed-up relationships.
It is present day after day, time and again.
The wrong is so piled up or horrendous, the control is so manipulative, or the hurt is so devastating that it eats you alive until you are barely able to speak the anger that fills your insides.
It can stream forth in cruising or attack through stony silence.
Anger may drive you to the point of wanting to kill.
Some do!
How do you manage the feelings of anger that swell from living with a screwed-up person?
Follow this blog on upcoming chapter of MAKE ANGER YOUR ALLY and found out how -
This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs.
In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of HAWTHORN.
It’s amazing what and how hawthorn can help keep your body healthy?
It is easy to add hawthorn to your diet,
Hawthorn berry may be difficult to find at your local grocery store.
However, you should be able to find it at farmers’ markets, specialty health food stores, and online.
You can add hawthorn to your diet in many ways:
Raw; raw hawthorn berries have a tart, slightly sweet taste and make a great on-the-go snack.
Tea; you can buy premade hawthorn tea or make your own using the dried berries, flowers, and leaves of the plant.
Jams and desserts; in the Southeastern United States, hawthorn berries are commonly made into jam, pie filling, and syrup.
Wine and vinegar; hawthorn berries can be fermented into a tasty adult beverage or a flavorful vinegar that can be used to make salad dressing.
Supplements; you can take hawthorn berry supplements in a convenient powder, pill, or liquid form.
Hawthorn berry supplements usually contain the berry along with the leaves and flowers.
Although, some include only the leaves and flowers, as they’re a more concentrated source of antioxidants than the berry itself.
Different brands and forms of hawthorn supplements have varying dosage recommendations.
According to one report, the minimum effective dose of hawthorn extract for heart failure is 300 mg daily.
Typical doses are 250–500 mg, taken three times daily.
Keep in mind that supplements are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other governing body.
Therefore, it’s nearly impossible to know the true effectiveness or safety of a supplement. Always purchase them from reputable sources.
Look for products that have received a seal of approval from independent organizations that assess supplement effectiveness and quality, such as United States Pharmacopeia (USP), NSF International, or Consumer Lab.
