Next to excellence is the appreciation of it.
CONTINUING THE SERIES OF APPRECIATION AND LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE FROM LAST WEEK. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?
Yesterday evening Dan and I went to the big star and out for dinner with friends from Florida.
Took them to The Corn Beef and Company Restaurant, for it has the best corn beef in town. A matter of fact, the best Dan and I have ever tasted. Like always they didn’t let us down. Yummy! If you are ever in the neighborhood of downtown Roanoke, you will need to check it out for yourself.
Things happen for reasons and how amazing it is that our friends came, while I have been blogging on appreciation. It’s been a pleasure spending quality of time showing them Roanoke and the surrounding area.
Expressing your appreciation for a loved one, friend, or mentor is an important gesture of gratitude, especially for those who have impacted your life or helped you in times of need.
A simple card along with a gift that shows your sentiment can go a long way when you’re looking for the perfect way to say “I Appreciate You”. When it comes to messaging, you’ll find that a heartfelt note paired with a simple phrase of gratitude can do the trick for showing your appreciation.
When loved ones, friends, or associates extend their help, a message of appreciation is due to show how thankful you are for their generosity. A simple message that lets the recipient know exactly why you appreciate them can make them feel that their help or kind gesture was worth the trouble. Whenever someone shows thoughtfulness, you can return the sentiment by expressing your appreciation and ensuring that their help hasn’t gone unnoticed.
QUOTES ABOUT LIVING
Appreciating a lesson learned means being grateful you have the wisdom for tomorrow that you didn’t have yesterday.

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?
Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.
Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.
"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."
CLICK THROUGH THE SLIDE SHOW AND ENJOY.
So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.
This is where we continue on the book: LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

Today I’m continuing on CHAPTER TWO - WHEN THE PRESSURE IS ON.
Know your limits!
Knowing your limits makes it easier to own your choice.
If you feel like a gun is to your head, determine why the gun is there, what your options are, how long can you stand for it to stay pointed at you, and what are you are going to do about it.
This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. Continuing on the health benefits on PEPPERMINT. You might be surprised!
Peppermint inhibits Growth of Bacteria and Fungi. Peppermint contains several essential oils which help to stop the growth of different kinds of bacteria.
These bacteria include Helicobacter pylori, Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli O157:H7 and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It also inhabits the growth of fungi in the body.
Peppermint can also help to treat athlete’s foot.
Massage the oil on your feet and leave it overnight.
Peppermint oil can also be used to reduce cellulite line by rubbing the oil on the affected areas.
Peppermint oil keeps the skin clean and prevents skin infections and blemishes.
Tomorrow I’ll post more peppermint benefits.
NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth
THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.
As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).
So hot outside yesterday in Virginia, Dan and I decided to walk inside. The mall near our house has music 🎵 and air-conditioning💨so that's where we walked. There were several couples that had the same idea.
I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!
Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!
Click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/exercise
Also, meditation videos, help to lower stress and is also one of the first steps to making your cells happy; click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/meditation. Again, they are no more than 10 to 20 mins and they are guided meditations.
Planting Seeds of Gratitude 10 Minute Guided Meditation
This 10-minute guided meditation will focus on planting seeds of Gratitude giving us the opportunity to note the many blessings we have and distracts us from the misfortunes we may face.
With grace, acceptance and meditation, mindfulness allows us to respond to our misfortunes.
Those two behaviors together cultivate the happy self-inside of us.
“Surrender is a gift that you can give yourself. It’s an act of faith. It’s saying that even though I can’t see where this river is flowing, I trust it will take me in the right direction.” ~ Debbie Ford
We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash # tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!

Until Friday, in life - people tend to wait for good things to come to them and by waiting, they miss out. Usually, what you wish for doesn't fall in your lap; it falls somewhere nearby, and you have to recognize it, stand up, and put in the time and work that it takes to get to it. This isn't because the universe is cruel. It's because the universe is smart. It has its own cat-string theory and knows we don't appreciate things that fall into our laps.
