UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

Hello Followers,

Oh, the week just flew by for Dan and I!

What are you all going to be doing this weekend?

Dan and I are going to explore some more outdoors if the weather allows us.

Yesterday, was a non-conventional walk day👢Dan had a doctor's appointment in Charlottesville, which is two hours away.

So, we decided to go to a closer park near the office. We landed at Greenbrier Park and as we laid out our picnic table, guess what; it started to sprinkle. But that didn't stop us from walking or having our picnic 🧺

Nature surrounds us. It delights us, feeds and inspires us with its rich taste and boundless creativity.

Nature surrounds us, from parks and backyards to streets and alleyways. Next time you go out for a walk, tread gently and remember that we are both inhabitants and stewards of nature in our neighborhoods. By David Suzuki

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

It’s time to share some words from THE LEFT-HANDER’S HANDBOOK.

A more complicated tool can be a downright menace.

This can be for a typical power saw, for example. A left-hander must cross his arms to operate it.

Since he can’t see where he’s going, he’ll either saw a crooked line, or chop off a couple of fingers.

Consider the rifle; the bolt action variety that bolts the wrong way and the gas-operated semi-automatics, like the M1. This threatens to scoop out your eyeball every time you fire it left-handed

Man, us left handers have it tough.

It seems everything is made for the right-handers!

As Dan and I continue the series on words and thoughts. I’m going throw in a twist with sharing the Importance of keeping your word to others and yourself that can affect your and others health.

Keeping your word to yourself is a habit you can learn.

Keeping Your Word Muscle simple.

Start a daily journal, and write out five tasks you want to achieve each day the night before or in the morning.

These tasks don’t have to be time consuming.

Keep it simple and achievable.

As you complete each activity during the day tick it off.

You’ll be amazed at how good you feel after number 5 is completed.

Next day do the whole thing again.

Exercise the muscle of “keeping your word to yourself” every day. Quickly, you’ll feel confident to tackle life; an example such as changing events such as to lose weight can begin because when you promise to do something, you do it.

Whatever it takes!

Those people who keep promises to themselves are more likely to be successful in making major life style changes.

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

THOUGHTS AND WORDS

There’s a big difference between just feeling sorry for yourself and reflecting on your feelings.

If you can’t talk to anyone openly about your feelings, then journal.

If you don’t know what’s wrong, you can’t fix it.

Reflection is essential.

Write down what you’re feeling, what seems to be causing the draining and depressing emotions; and think in terms of how you are contributing to the circumstances (even if only by allowing them to continue) and what you can do to change them.

It takes effort, but it’s worth it.

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

WITH PICTURES

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

USING PICTURES

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

30 PICTURES - ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

This is where we continue on the book: LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

Today I will begin on – CHAPTER FIVE; PULL OUT THE SPLINTERS.

Splinters on our inside find a way to affect our outside.

Most relationships and people grow to be screwed up slowly.

As a result, it is hard to recognize that the relationship is off center and out of sync.

It seems that arguing, whining, hiding, begging, or avoiding each other are normal.

When you are in such a relationship, you are not surprised to hear of other relationships that are falling apart; broken marriages, estranged parents and children, people walking off their jobs, friendships disintegrating because you know the weariness that results from dealing with angry emotions that are often part of troubled relationships.

Your eyes are open.

You are determined to quit straddling the fence.

Even though the person drives you crazy, you are connected.

You intend to stay the course, but you also intend to find ways to stay healthy and be happy.

You recognize that spin-offs from your difficult relationship have damaged your other relationships.

You are saddened when you think of the time, energy and emotions that you have spent trying to change someone who does not see a need to change.

You are tired of the unhappiness, the quilt, the overwhelming hurt.

You say to yourself; happiness is my inside job, regardless of the outside circumstances.

To be continued-

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of SAGE. It’s amazing what and how sage can help keep your body healthy?

Sage may support oral health.

Sage has antimicrobial effects, which can neutralize microbes that promote dental plaque.

In one study, a sage-based mouthwash was shown to effectively kill the Streptococcus mutans bacteria, which is notorious for causing dental cavities.

In a test-tube study, a sage-based essential oil was shown to kill and halt the spread of Candida albicans, a fungus that may also cause cavities.

One review noted that sage may treat throat infections, dental abscesses, infected gums and mouth ulcers. However, more human research is needed to make comprehensive recommendations.

Sage has antimicrobial properties that may kill microbes that encourage the growth of dental plaque.

More benefits of sage tomorrow.

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!

Yesterday was a non-conventional walk day👢Dan had a doctor's appointment in Charlottesville, which is two hours away.

Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!

Also, meditation videos, help to lower stress and is also one of the first steps to making your cells happy; click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/meditation

Again, they are no more than 10 to 20 mins and they are guided meditations.

20 Minute Mindfulness Meditation for Being Present / Mindful Movement

This is a guided meditation to help you develop your skill of being mindful and present.

It will reduce your stress level, as well as improve your overall health and well-being when practiced regularly.

“Surrender is a gift that you can give yourself. It’s an act of faith. It’s saying that even though I can’t see where this river is flowing, I trust it will take me in the right direction.” ~ Debbie Ford

We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash # tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!
