As I got up yesterday, the first thought that came to my mind was; the secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.


Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it?


Every, every minute?


So, that is what Dan and I actually did yesterday, we lived in the moment with all the Thanksgiving trimmings and thankful for having that experience.

Life’s not the breaths you take.

The breathing in and out.

That gets you through the day.

If you can maintain good health and mobility your chances of being happy in later life are hugely increased. But all too many of us demote fitness to a low priority especially when work pressures impinge.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator whenever you’ve a chance.

The most primitive of the senses, smell connects us directly with our memories, emotions, and instincts.


When we smell something, we are actually absorbing some of its molecules, making aromatherapy a form of natural medicine.


Here are some specific suggestions for balancing fragrances:


Invigorating Cooling Calming

Lemon Jasmine Lavender

Orange Mint Vanilla

Clove Lime Sandalwood

Cinnamon Rose Neroli

You can also use a process known as neuro associative conditioning to consciously link a healing response to a given smell.


First choose a favorite aroma and inhale it whenever you are feeling relaxed, calm or happy.


Your body will begin to associate pleasurable feelings with the smell.


Before long, just a hint of the fragrance will invoke your inner healing response.

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

CHAPTER 10; BUTTONS AND TRIGGERS

ACT; DON’T REACT.


Prior to a full-blown earthquake there are geological symptoms that act like buttons to warn that tension is escalating between the earth’s massive places of rock that float over a fluid core.


Something eventually has to give to ease the tensions, or the ground shakes uncontrollably, splits occur and anything in the way is splintered by the titanic power that explodes and implodes with incredible magnitude

The same is true of us as people.


We are conscious of only our surface lives, unable to see the powerful movements deep below our surface experiences.


Tensions and pressures can develop that must find release.


They release in healthy ways or they implode and explode uncontrollably.
