Live the actual moment. Only this moment is life.

THIS WEEK, CONTINUING SERIES ON EMBRACING THE PRESENT MOMENT AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO? BONUS, THE SIX SENSES AND YOUR WELL-BEING.

Hello Followers,

Happy Hump Day and the first day of December!

Hanukkah began Sunday, November 28th to December 3rd.

And count down 24 days until CHRISTMAS.

As it goes this is mid-week and a question speaks out to me; how can I avoid getting caught up in endless future planning and return to being aware and grateful for the present moment?

Since my diagnosis almost eleven years ago, I have been answering that question through research and have been practicing it daily.

These steps have helped me to be a better healthier me.

The first step is to cultivate a positive attitude.

Happy people are a joy to be around.

They appreciate and learn from everything that happens throughout their days.

Sharing a smile, a hug, saying ‘hello’ or even something as simple as letting someone cut in front of you in traffic, can help you become more positive and live more aware and in the moment.

As you do this regularly, it becomes a habit of being present wherever you are, looking for ways to share happiness.

The second step is to get real about your life expectancy,

While none of us like to think about our mortality, the truth is, we all have a finite time, and finite moments of life left to live.

When you keep that knowledge close to the forefront of your brain while planning, you will find that you plan less, and enjoy life more.

The third step is don’t hold on to past regrets or hurts.

Brooding over poor choices you have made in the past, or choices someone else has made that has hurt you is one of the many ways we squander our present moments of happiness and awareness.

Realize that everyone makes mistakes, including yourself and those who have hurt you.

Let those mistakes pass, learn what you need to from them and move on to the present.

When you view making mistakes as a natural part of existence, as natural as eating, breathing and sleeping, you realize that there isn’t the need to focus on them for long.

The fourth step is a quiet in your inner voice.

We all have the little voice in our head that just doesn’t stop talking.

It’s the voice that talks to us about our past and our future.

It seems to talk about everything except the very present moment we are living.

If you can learn to control that voice through meditation, quiet pondering or other methods, you can live much more in the present.

When you are always thinking about the past or the future, you are living in a state of non-existence, since neither of those places actually exists in the present moment.

The fifth step is focus on one thing at a time.

Multi-tasking feeds that inner voice that is always talking to us telling us everything that needs to be done at all times.

If you focus on one task at a time, without thinking of your next to-do item, you will complete the task with a higher quality outcome and personal fulfillment then if you are half working on it, half thinking about the next project.

As you focus on the task at hand, you may also realize that perhaps it isn’t something that is a good use of your time after all, allowing you to remove tasks from your life that aren’t really contributing.

And the last step is planning in the present.

It’s true that we do need to plan parts of our days and make plans for future vacations.

We can’t always live in the present moment and assume the future will take care of itself in a good way without any help on our part.

As we set aside some time in the present to plan for the future, we can make our plans by considering how our present will be affected once we get there, and make our plans accordingly.

Once we have made those plans, we can feel more at ease in the present and not worry about the future.

101 WAYS TO HAPPINESS; by Mike Annesley.

Since all the research of keeping healthy, leads to making your cells happy; this book will help your mental health to be happy.

That is the first step in keeping your cells happy and keeping your body healthy.

CHAPTER 1; HAPPILY, YOURSELF

BE CREATIVE

Many feel they lack the artistic temperament.

But creativity is at the core of our humanity.

You can be creative without realizing it.

Whenever you arrange pictures on a wall or choose fabrics for the home, you’re letting your aesthetic instinct out to play.

It’s worth going further and seeing what happens if, say, you try making a vertical garden for your balcony from an old pallet or take a stab at drawing or assembling a collage or improving a sculpture from found objects.

Creativity follows no rules.

Immerse yourself in making.

THE SIX SENSES AND YOUR WELL-BEING

Can you know ahead how things will turn out?

You often get a hunch about things and it is often more than a logical guess.

You know how things will turn out, or who will win an event, or whether a venture will be successful.

This is also why sometimes you feel a sense of dread or prefer to postpone things.

This could also be why you feel fearless and reassured during a time when others around you are anxious or worried.

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?

DID YOU KNOW?

The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, was credited with turning R&B into soul and turning soul into funk.

This lefty had more than one hundred hits and continued to perform his athletic and exhilarating stage shows until shortly before his death on December 25, 2006.

In 1986, Brown was one of the original inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

HOW SAFE IS

THROUGH PICTURES AND VIDEO'S

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

WITH PICTURES AND VIDEO'S

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 10; BUTTONS AND TRIGGERS

Continue with SIGNS OF REACTIVE BEHAVIOR

Reactive behavior is rooted in unrealistic or thwarted expectations.

If after repeated difficult behaviors, you say things like: I’m sure this will never happen again, if I just work a little more (give more, do more, be more), I am sure things will change.

You may be coyote like.

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of HAWTHORN. It’s amazing what and how hawthorn can help keep your body healthy?

Did you know that Hawthorn herb is loaded with antioxidants?

Hawthorn berry is a rich source of polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidant compounds found in plants.

Antioxidants help neutralize unstable molecules called free radicals that can harm your body when they are present at high levels.

These molecules can come from poor diet, as well as environmental toxins like air pollution and cigarette smoke.

Due to their antioxidant activity, polyphenols have been associated with numerous health benefits, including a lower risk of the following; some cancers, type 2 diabetes, asthma, some infections, heart problems, premature skin aging,

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!

Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!
