Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

STARTING A NEW SERIES ON EMBRACING THE PRESENT MOMENT AND CONTINUING ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO? BONUS, THE SIX SENSES AND YOUR WELL-BEING.

Hello Followers,

The week-end is coming, its right around the corner!

What do you have planned for Saturday and Sunday?

Love to hear from you.

Learn to focus only on the present.

The past is unchangeable so it is futile to reflect on it unless you are making sure you do not repeat mistakes.

The future is but a result of your action today.

So, learn from the past to do better in the present so that you can succeed in the future.

If you must look back, do so forgivingly.

If you must look forward, do so prayerfully.

However, the wisest thing you can do is to be present in the present.

Gratefully!

101 WAYS TO HAPPINESS; by Mike Annesley.

Since all the research of keeping healthy, leads to making your cells happy; this book will help your mental health to be happy.

That is the first step in keeping your cells happy and keeping your body healthy.

CHAPTER 1; HAPPILY, YOURSELF

FIND MEANING IN YOUR LIFE

The meaning of life is a philosophical question, one you may never answer.

However, it feels good to believe your own particular life has meaning and this often follows from a sense of purpose.

The Japanese speak of ikigai, or reason for being; the thing that motivates you to get up in the mornings.

Spend time on self-examination to find the purpose that shapes your life.

Then look for opportunities to pursue that purpose.

The most rewarding path is often to contribute to something greater than yourself.

THE SIX SENSES AND YOUR WELL-BEING

Touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound can improve your well-being in all sorts of surprising ways.

Let’s talk about SIGHT and how it effects our health.

Sight plays an important role in overall health.

Oxford’s Charles Spence studies the impact of sight on health.

His lab has found, for example, that people who are told to look at their painful wounds and injuries through a “minimizing lens”, essentially a pair of binoculars turned backwards to make things look smaller; experience notable improvements not only in pain, but even in swelling and other physiological symptoms.

It sounds bizarre, but Spence offers a simple explanation; “A big wound hurts more than a small one, doesn’t it?”

Convincing part of the brain that the wound is smaller may trigger changes in both pain perception and the immune system.

Another sight-based phenomenon Spence’s lab uncovered addresses the problem of undernutrition among elderly people.

Studies have found that getting older people to eat a bit more each day cuts their risk of dying during a hospital stay in half.

Spence’s group showed that by simply using brightly-colored plates and flatware, they were able to increase older people’s food consumption as much as 30%.

It’s not entirely clear why the gimmick works, but Spence says it may turn eaters’ attention to the meal.

“It works just as well back at home as it does in the hospital,” Spence says.

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?

DID YOU KNOW!

Bearing a striking resemblance to her mother, Goldie Hawn isn’t the only thing Kate Hudson has in common with her.

They’re also both left-handed.

Hudson’s breakthrough movie, Almost Famous; earned her a Golden Globe award and an Academy Award nomination.

She has since established herself as a leading romantic-comedy actress starring in such films as Alex and Emma, Raising Helen, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and You, Me and Dupree.

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

THROUGH PICTURES AND VIDEO'S

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

WITH PICTURES AND VIDEO'S

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 9 – LET THE PAST GO

Today, ACCEPT YOUR REALITY

Sometimes detaching in love is not possible.

Believe it is better to detach in anger than stay and exude poison toxins that destroy your emotional stability, peace, or other relationships.

Mental distancing is crucial if you are to objectively discern ways to live in a less than a perfect relationship that is important to you.

REAL RELATIONSHIPS ARE FAR MORE INTERESTING THAN DREAMS.

Continuing tomorrow-

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of ELDER. It’s amazing what and how elder can help keep your body healthy?

Elderberries boosts our immunity.

Elderberries have certain anti-infectious and antibacterial qualities and are often used to ward off cold and influenza especially during seasons when people are more susceptible to these illnesses.

Moreover, elderberries can reinforce your immune system against itself, and guard against various autoimmune disorders.

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!
