A father’s greatest legacy is not what he leaves behind, but the love he plants in the hearts of his children.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person: he believed in me.

This day is dedicated to honoring fathers and guiding figures who shape people's lives with their love, care, and wisdom.

It also gives families an opportunity to express gratitude by spending quality time together.

Father's Day recognizes the important role fathers play in the lives of their children and families.

Many people mark the occasion by taking time out of their busy schedules to be with their fathers and thank them for their support and guidance.

How this holiday came about!

Father’s Day is an annual Sunday holiday that occurs each year in June.

While originally targeting fathers, Father’s Day has grown to include all paternal figures, including grandfathers, stepfathers, fathers-in-law, husbands.

This highlights our varied family dynamics and honors fathers who nurture their children.

It originated in West Virginia in 1908 as a one-time commemoration of 362 men who perished in a 1907 coal mine explosion.

The following year, in Spokane, Washington, Sonora Smart Dodd, one of six children raised by a widower, sought to establish an official day for fathers after her pastor’s Mother’s Day sermon.

She opens the door to all the local charities and government offices to gather support for her idea.

As a result, Washington celebrated the first statewide Father’s Day on June 19, 1910.

The Spokane Ministerial Alliance eagerly embraced her idea, and that first Father’s Day was supported and celebrated by Spokane churches.

The holiday gained slow but eager momentum, and, in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson gave acceptance to the holiday with a flag in Spokane.

In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge advocated for the holiday and recommended state governments observe Father’s Day, but it was not until 1972 that Father’s Day became an official U.S. holiday.

So, today create your own blank canvas with unlimited possibilities.

And apply color, shapes, and pictures.

This takes on the impossible to possibilities.

Vision is an idea that forms into reality!

As we follow our journey through life, the paths go in different directions.

Some are straight and pleasant.

And others are bumpy and complicated.

But we all go through them.

Dan and I have learned it is all how you handle them that makes a difference.

They are just teaching us lessons, and, in the end, it is only bumpy for a moment.

I have learned to keep positive and enjoy the journey.

Because our thoughts, words, and actions can quickly change your direction.
