Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing you're worthy of the trip.

THIS WEEK CONTINUING ON; SELF- WORTH AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

Hello Followers,

As I start this day, a question comes to mind; do you know your SELF-WORTH?

Dan and I have learned throughout the years our self-worth.

Today I share with you our ideas on the measure of just this.

The truth is that status or material things should never measure self-worth.

There are many misconceptions about self-worth that have sadly shaped the minds of people into thinking less of themselves when they are, in fact, more.

Your occupation should not determine the value you place on your life.

There have been cases where experienced and trained professionals have had to settle for menial jobs because they couldn’t get hired.

If this doesn’t take away their qualifications, why then should self-worth be measured according to career choices?

The only thing that should be a concern is how gratifying the job is.

Achievements are great, but what you do or achieve shouldn’t affect the importance you place on yourself.

No label, certificate, or plaque should measure your worth for you.

I don’t mean to sound cliché by telling you age is nothing but a big number, but I will tell you this; how old or how young you are does not determine how prepared you are for anything.

Dan and I have experienced this first hand.

You only need to be willing and dedicated, and the world will be at your feet.

It is tempting to try to feel good about yourself just because someone feels good about you.

What if they leave?

Single or not, do not make a relationship the basis for your self-worth.

Are you the least smart person in your class?

Know that you are just as valuable as a straight-A student because you have individual gifts and might excel at something else that an A-student will flunk terribly.

I always wanted to be like my two sisters and have the straight-A, as I got older; I realized that its what you remember and retain that truly matters.

It shouldn’t be measured by self-worth.

Do you have an illness that’s lowering your spirits?

It is safe to say that positive people heal more quickly, so stay optimistic.

Way back eleven years ago, I chose to be positive and try other methods to heal my cancer.

Dan and I did not want the diagnosis of cancer to determine my self-worth.

Too much or too little money does not define a person.

As long as you are satisfied and have enough to survive, then there’s nothing to worry about.

This is what I tell Dan all the time!

Self-Worth Is Not About Your Preference!

Do people think you’re old-school or too sophisticated for this generation?

Their opinion doesn’t matter as long as you’re okay with who you are.

Self-worth is only about you!

Everyone has a mental picture of who they want to be.

Breast Biopsy Marker Clip

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE HAVING A BIOPSY!

Since my biopsy I have some concerns.

One concern that haunts me is the clips that they inserted in my breast.

I have talked to some people and did some research and have gotten different answers.

I even spoke to one woman that just found out that she will need a biopsy and was told that she would be having a clip placed in her.

She advised that she did not want this and was told that they would not be able to do the procedure unless a clip was placed in the area of concern.

The answer was it was their policy.

Is this right, and should they tell us that we cannot have a procedure if we do not have a marker to label the area.

I have done some research and in the findings below you will see that this procedure is being done quite often and is very profitable.

Should this be done and are there side effects?

According to the material I found from the medical media, there are no side effects.

However, if you google it, you will see that there are women that have expressed that there are side effects.

So, ladies when it comes time for you to have a biopsy of the breast DO YOUR RESEARCH before having it done. Ask questions; after all it is your body.

Marker clips used for breast biopsies are made of titanium or surgical stainless steel and are about 2 millimeters in size.

When the radiologist or surgeon feels a marker should be used, they are inserted at the end of breast core or needle biopsy procedures to mark the site of the biopsy for later reference.

This is an important step to take since most abnormalities biopsied are small or subtle and can become extremely difficult or impossible to identify after a core biopsy procedure.

When a biopsy result is abnormal and an excision or lumpectomy is necessary, the marker clip allows accurate localization of the abnormal site for removal so that as little tissue as necessary is removed while optimizing the chance of clear margins.

Most patients have normal (benign) results from these types of biopsies; however, the presence of the marker is very reassuring when seen on follow-up mammograms; it shows exactly where the area was biopsied.

This avoids confusion in interpretation of follow-up mammograms and can prevent the need for future biopsies in that same area.

The marker is safe; sensitivity to the material is very rare. In general women cannot feel the clip.

They do not set off airport detectors and do not cause interference problems in MRI.

Each tissue marker is only 3mm (less than 1/8") in size.

A breast tissue marker is placed after a breast biopsy to help locate the site for future reference.

During your breast biopsy procedure most of the lesion may have been removed and could potentially be difficult to locate after the biopsy.

Therefore, it has become standard practice for a physician to place a breast tissue marker at the site of the biopsy for future reference.

Marking the site also helps to ensure that the correct area was biopsied.

The markers are made of materials that will show up on your follow-up mammogram.

The presence of the marker can be very reassuring when seen on follow-up mammograms because it shows exactly where the area was biopsied.

This can prevent the need for future biopsies in that same area.

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

SELF-WORTH

If you really want an answer, stop asking; why am I being treated this way?

Ask instead, why am I putting up with this.

P.S. it’s not love.

Building or rebuilding, self-worth after the break up of a damaging situation with stopping the negative thoughts of the one who is no longer there and thinking positive thoughts of the one who still is you.

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

It’s time to share some words from THE LEFT-HANDER’S HANDBOOK.

WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?

Did you know both commanders at the epochal Battle of Trafalgar, Napoleon and Nelson; were left-handers?

Did you know both Charlemagne and Alexander the Great were left-handed?

Did you know both Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti, the two greatest artists of the Italian Renaissance; were left-handed?

Did you know an unusually high percentage of Apollo astronauts were left-handed?

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

THROUGH PICTURES

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

WITH PICTURES

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

20 PICTURES - ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 8; HANDLING FRAZZLED EMOTIONS.

APPRECIATE YOUR EMOTIONS

Work with your emotions, as opposed to for your emotions.

When emotions are given free reign, they –

v Are nearsighted and childish

v Demand our attention

v Make us think only feelings count

v Convince us that life is not fair

v Decry injustice

v Support pity parties

v Point fingers at others

v Defend our actions, right or wrong

v Want instant gratification

v Make us self-centered; my needs, my wants, my feelings

Reason encourages emotions to slow down when they begin to become overbearing.

Reason talks realistically to you about the trade-off of long-term happiness for feel-good now.

Tomorrow will continue on APPRECIATE YOUR EMOTIONS.

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of NETTLE. It’s amazing what and how nettle can help keep your body healthy?

Another Benefit of Nettle is it Protects Heart Health.

Broken hearts are everywhere, both physically and metaphorically.

It hurts whenever the person you have a crush on is not going along, but at least time would heal those wounds.

That’s not really the case, though, if your real heart starts having problems.

If you’re interested in protecting your heart (physically, at least), then a cup of stinging nettle tea should always be on your diet.

Nettles are known to help in lowering blood pressure, with flavonoids packed inside the plant.

Nettles are also rich in iron and potassium, helping blood vessels open up and promote healthy blood circulation.

The plant is also known to contain vitamin A and C, and beta carotene, all known heart protectors.

Nothing beats a broken heart like a cup of nettle tea.

If it doesn’t heal your broken heart, at least you know it can prevent it from literally breaking.

Now all that’s left is to figure out what to do with these chocolates?

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while

managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

Yesterday's autumn walk, leaves falling from the trees and there was a cool breeze.

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!

Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!

Guided Mindfulness Meditation on Self-Love and Self-Worth

You are worthy of love.

And, you are worthy of loving yourself.

This means having forgiveness for yourself and taking care of yourself first.

This will, in turn, result in a deeper care for others.

This guided mindfulness meditation will focus on these ideas.

Let the ambient music and my relaxing voice allow you to find calm and peace, free from anxiety; whether listening in the morning, before sleep, or any free moment during the day.

Meditation is becoming a global movement!

“Surrender is a gift that you can give yourself. It’s an act of faith. It’s saying that even though I can see where this river is flowing, I trust it will take me in the right direction.” ~ Debbie Ford

We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash #tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!

THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOURNEY

Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing you're worthy of the trip. #sometimes#hardest#part#journey#believing#you're #worthy#trip#inspirational#motivational

Until Wednesday, there will always be someone willing to hurt you, put you down, gossip about you, belittle your accomplishments and judge your soul. It is a fact that we all must face. However, if you realize that God is a best friend that stands beside you when others cast stones you will never be afraid, never feel worthless and never feel alone.
