OH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING

Good morning,

Today Dan and I are celebrating our grandson’s 2nd birthday. For many years since our daughter left for college, we have been social distancing ourselves and following her career. We learned about Skype when she was going to college in London to get her masters.

So, this is not something different. We do visit during the year, but since our grandson has been born; we do have more face-time together. This is and is the future of parents and their children that go off to college and take jobs in other locations.

Social media refers to websites and applications that are designed to allow people to share content quickly, efficiently, and in real-time. Many people define social media as apps on their smartphone or tablet, but the truth is, this communication tool started with computers. This misconception stems from the fact that most social media users access their tools via apps.

There are two different types of social media, one is personal and the other is business. Right now, with social distancing, I’m going to talk about personal.

The ability to share photos, opinions, events, in real-time has transformed the way we live.

Images Are Key

Another thing to consider is that the most commonly-shared content on social media is an image. So, always include an image with your posts. This will dramatically increase your chances that one of your followers will share the post with their network. While building up a large network of followers is great, ultimately what you want is to have your followers—no matter how many you have—share what you're posting with their network, and those people will share your post with their followers, and so on. This is the new form of "word of mouth" and it is what people mean when they say a post went "viral."

Being able at our age to figure out the modern age of social media and learn not to be afraid of it is timeless. Looking for challenges in our everyday life has helped me over come the fear. I’m able to blog and share my experiences with others and also personally connect by face-time with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson. When we were in Mexico and now in Virginia, I Facebook messenger video chat with my mother every once in a while. If I can do it anyone can!!

Since this is Dan and my twelfth day of distancing, I know that real soon we will be able to get the simple things as a hair cut or even go out for a cup of coffee at Barnes and Noble. I’m going to share this poem that I wrote in my book, I Believe in Miracles. Because I believe that this will happen real soon.

I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES

I believe in miracles

And pray that I am being answered.

For days and nights of hoping

My heart is beating with laughter.

I can fill my journey with

Imagination of the bright rainbow shades.

For orange when combined with red

Will create the happiness of yellow.

I believe in miracles

And pray that I am being answered.

For days and nights of hoping

My heart is beating with laughter.

You can achieve the beauty of

The cross walk of life.

Just hold out your hand and grasp

Mine, we can move mountains.

I believe in miracles

And pray that I am being answered.

For days and nights of hoping

My heart is beating with laughter.

What qualities of your body, mind, and spirit are you most grateful for?

Have to go to get ready for a birthday party on Zoom. Happy birthday Jonah, your grandpa and grandma love you-bunches.

Until tomorrow, have a safe weekend. Try to go out and get some rays, but keep your distance.
