You can live next door to someone and know nothing about them.

But in fact, neighbor’s offer a valuable chance, paradoxically, of extending your horizons while making your area more sociable.

Introduce yourself and stay in touch.

Set up or join an email or other online network to share local news and useful contacts.

Look out for each other.

Keep noise down and be thoughtful about parties, indoors or out and the state of your yard.

Deal with disputes in a responsible way.

Respect the wishes of those who want to keep a friendly distance.

CHAPTER 12; FIGHT FAIR WITH UNFAIR PEOPLE

WIN WAR GAMES BY CONVINCING THE WARRIOR IT IS IN HIS BEST INTEREST TO STOP PLAYING

ADVICE AND CRITICISM

Advice and criticism are like two knives that can tear apart relationships.

Mutual regard is impossible when one person mistreats another and that person allows it.

Relationship’s tension will escalate unless some constructive action is taken.

Be aware that countering a difficult person’s behavior with anything but approval will be perceived as an affront.

Three options exist to handle criticism and unwanted advice;

1. Continue the relationship but ask that advice be given only when requested.

2. Cease activities that tempt the person to criticize or give advice.

3. End the relationship.

Continue tomorrow -

Last year, Dan and I have been posting, this is the time to get ready for food and remedies that

heal; alchemy of herbs.

Starting today on the herb; ARTICHOKE and the benefits.

It’s amazing what and how artichoke can help keep your body healthy?

ARTICHOKE AND ORANGE BITTERS RECIPE

This is a delicious bitter blend that can be taken 15 to 20 minutes before mealtime to help stimulate digestion.

While the alcohol preserves the mixture and makes for a convenient way to take the herb, the amount of alcohol consumed each time is minimal.

A teaspoon or two of this in a glass of sparking water is great as a low-alcohol cocktail.

Ingredients:

¼ cup dried hawthorn berries (20 grams)

¼ cup dried dandelion root (30 grams)

1 tablespoon fennel seed (5 grams)

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (3 grams)

¼ cup whole hibiscus (7 grams)

1 tablespoon artichoke leaves (1 gram)

2 tablespoons coriander seeds (5 grams)

1 whole organic orange, diced – including the peel and seeds

¼ to ½ cup honey to taste

3 cups vodka

Instructions:

1. Place all the herbs, spices and orange into a 1-quart jar.

2. Add the desired amount of honey.

3. Fill the jar with the vodka, stir well.

4. Cover with a lid.

5. Shake these 1 to 2 times per day.

6. Taste this after 1 week.

7. If the flavors have infused to your liking, strain off the herbs, reserving the alcohol.

8. Or leave it to infuse for an additional week.

9. Take ½ teaspoon or 5 to 10 drops in a small amount of water about 15 minutes before you eat.

10. This will last indefinitely.

11. Store in a dark bottle or dark location.

Tomorrow the herb, CACAO-

As Dan and I begin a new year, this is our PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.

If you would like to follow with us; hash tag words #walk, #meditation #Qigong on the right of the main blog page.

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

Today is:

HAPPINESS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU POSTPONE FOR THE FUTURE; IT IS SOMETHING YOU DESIGN FOR THE PRESENT.

RISE

And still, I rise.

Until Thursday, may your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.
