Hello Followers,
HAPPY HUMP DAY!
For about a week Dan and I had a visitor, a friend that we had met while living in Mexico.
The weather was fair, so we adventured out to see some history.
We headed to the town where the Civil War ended, Appomattox.
This led us to the American Civil War Museum, which told the stories of war’s end and of families left behind to survive and rebuild.
ENJOY THE 20 PICTURES
We explored stories of how the Civil War affected Americans across the divides of race, gender and nationality.
We discovered over 400 artifacts that told an important part of the story of those who experienced the war and its aftermath.
We saw the coat worn by Robert E. Lee during the surrender to a doll smuggled through the Union blockade, we saw the Civil War like never before.
ENJOY THE 30 PICTURES
Did you know that after the war many Confederate soldiers and their families migrated to other countries, Canada, Mexico and far away as South America and Asia.
