Goals are dreams with deadlines.

WE WILL BE CONTINUING THIS WEEK ON REMEMBER TO CELEBRATE MILESTONES AS YOU PREPARE FOR THE ROAD AHEAD AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE HERBS – ASHWAGANDHA, ASTRAGALUS.

Hello Followers,

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Just one more day of June.

Hope all had a wonderful first month of summer and are making milestones.

One thing that Dan and I learned in the last several years, especially while living in Mexico is; be flexible.

Try as you might, you won’t meet every milestone you set for yourself.

Don’t punish yourself.

Learn from your mistake, and set another and hopefully more achievable; milestone.

Do you need to scrap other milestones down the road because you failed to meet one?

Not necessarily, but you may need to delay them!

Going back when you were 16 years old, just learning to drive.

THINK!

What if you didn’t pass your driver’s test, you probably would have had to push back practicing merging onto the highway.

To ace the test, you would have had to first reach a new milestone of memorizing road signs.

Remember that milestone?

The other day, going through my Facebook feed; this caught my eye.

It’s something worth sharing, I WISH YOU ENOUGH!

Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter's departure had been announced.

Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said; I love you and I wish you enough.

The daughter replied, mom, our life together has been more than enough.

Your love is all I ever needed.

I wish you enough, too, mom.

They kissed and the daughter left.

The mother walked over to the window where I sat.

Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.

I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?

Yes, I have, I replied.

Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?

I am old and she lives so far away.

I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral, she said.

When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, I wish you enough.

May I ask what that means?

She began to smile.

That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations.

My parents used to say it to everyone.

She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more.

When we said I wish you enough, we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.

Then turning toward, me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory, I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

She then began to cry and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person.

An hour to appreciate them.

A day to love them.

And an entire life to forget them.

It’s the 29th day of June, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about June that’s so significant during this month?

The National Day of Joy – June 29, 2022

Celebrate the National Day of Joy on the last Wednesday of June, which falls on June 29 this year.

We want to observe it by finding happiness outside the norms that society calls for.

The search for joy is often attributed to material possessions but neglects family.

National Day of Joy started when caregivers realized how important it is for senior people to be joyful.

Enjoying everyday moments improves general well-being.

It is not based on outward circumstances.

This includes wealth and prestige.

It is an ability to rejoice at all times and over the small things.

The National Day of Joy started in 2019.

It was the brainchild of caregivers for seniors, Comfort Keepers.

The day sprouted from the firm’s observation of the magic that joyful moments have on their clients.

To capitalize on that, it decided to create a day dedicated for people to search out of the box for things that make them happy.

Over the years, the day’s celebration has increased the mental well-being of those who participate in its celebration.

Comfort Keepers recognizes the value of stopping to smell the roses.

Admire your family members.

Enjoy your surroundings and the moment.

That is what the Day of Joy is for.

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

Today is:

IT ISN’T WHAT YOU HAVE, OR WHO YOU ARE, OR WHERE YOU ARE, OR WHAT YOU ARE DOING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY OR UNHAPPY. IT IS WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT.

Continuing from last year the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown.

Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy.

A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 17; WHEN YOU WANT TO HELP

WHEN IS HELP -HELP?

The best help is help that educates and guides, not giving directions; but laying out the possibilities.

Successful help:

1. Lends insight and objectivity to the decision-making process.

2. Is grounded in respect.

3. Encourage and supports.

4. Expresses hope.

5. Discourages codependency.

6. Listens and guides.

7. Develops interdependency, healthy support for each other.

Tomorrow, HEALTHY HELP-

Today starting on the herb; ASTRAGALUS and the benefits, It’s the last herb from the book ALCHEMY OF HERBS by Rosalee De La Foret.

Astragalus has such a mildly sweet flavor.

It lends itself well as a building, immune-enhancing ingredient to almost any formula and many recipes.

I am convinced that it has contributed to getting my children through fifteen cold flu seasons without turning to conventional medicine.

Until Thursday, our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.
