Surviving doesn’t just mean staying alive, it means living to your potential.

TIME TO RECAP ON THIS WEEK, WE ARE DESIGNED TO SURVIVE AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE BOOK TEN-MINUTE RELAXATION FOR MIND AND BODY.

Hello followers,

Its Sunday!

Countdown to some cooler weather, Autumn arrives in 26 days.

Are we ready for pumpkin spice and everything nice?

Dan and I can’t wait for this our favorite time of year.

The leaves are changing colors, the air is crisp, and the weather is perfect for outdoor activities.

And this will be the third year this Florida raised girl will be experiencing the mountains and the change of the leaves.

Last year we loved going out to the pumpkin patch and enjoying the beautiful scenery around them.

But until then, Dan and I will continue to stay on our home program; which I call our lifestyle.

Starting on, do you know what iatrogenic disease is?

Read on!

The Western civilization and the problem of chemicals such as preservatives and others; medical drugs will be the topic today.

In Western civilization it is well known that women on the average have a lifespan advantage of several years over men mainly because they are less prone to heart disease in their earlier years.

But after menopause they suffer vascular problems at the same rate as men.

This protection enjoyed by women is obviously provided by a function male’s do not experience, menstruation; which is nature's way of detoxifying a woman's body in preparation for an anticipated pregnancy.

The degree of distress experienced in menstruation by some women is proportional to the degree of toxemia existing within them, and it is noteworthy that some women; who by virtue of superior diet are toxin free.

They suffer little or no discomfort or blood loss with their periods, as is also the case with fit women athletes whose body functions work more adequately to detoxify them all the time.

Menstruation should therefore not be considered a curse at all; it is a blessing that protects.

It is the Western diet that is the curse.

It is noteworthy, in relation to the superior health of the Hunzas, that there is also a difference in average life expectancy of about five years between males and females, which in this case favors the males who are by virtue of their occupations far more physically active than the women.

A disease which has not been recognized until recently but which has always been and is becoming still more common is iatrogenic disease, which means disease caused by medical treatment.

Many sick people die of what are called complications, and it is a fact that many such complications consist of metabolic malfunctions caused by medical drugs, all of which are depressants of the immune system.

A less frightening example of iatrogenic disease is the frequency of various infections which appear to be contagious among hospital patients while at the same time the doctors and hospital staff remain unaffected.

AUGUST – 28th, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about August that’s so significant during this month?

National Red Wine Day – August 28, 2022

Who out there drinks red wine?

Dan and I have a secret, when we go out to a fine restaurant on a special occasion; we split our wine intake.

As we get older, just half a glass makes me fill tipsy.

However, there is good health benefits for a glass a day.

It’s always a good time for red wine, especially on National Red Wine Day.

Today, we throw out all those stuffy rules about how and when to drink this nectar from the gods.

Instead, we grab our coolest glass and savor the taste of our favorite red wine.

Red wines including merlot, pinot noir, shiraz, and cabernet sauvignon don’t always have to rest at a temperature of between 65-70 degrees before you can enjoy a glass.

In fact, there are some experts who say it’s perfectly acceptable to refrigerate red wines and drink them cold, especially during exceptionally hot weather.

So, ignore the wine snobs, make your choice and commit to drinking responsibly.

Then, hoist your glass in a toast to National Red Wine Day.

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

Today is:

OPEN YOUR ARMS TO CHANGE, BUT DON’T LET GO OF YOUR VALUES.

TIME TO RECAP ON THIS WEEK, WE ARE DESIGNED TO SURVIVE AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE BOOK TEN-MINUTE RELAXATION FOR MIND AND BODY.

The rules of survival never change, whether you’re in a desert or in an arena.

Connections with other people affect not only the quality of our lives but also our survival.

Success is what happens after you have survived all of your disappointments.

WHY AND BECAUSE

We each survive in our own way.

The worst days have an ending and the best days have a start.

We cannot survive if we are entirely isolated.

Continuing from last year the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown.

Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy.

A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 19; DANCING WITH PORCUPINES (last chapter of the book)

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE-

Today we are starting on the most significant question that Dan and I have been blogging from living successfully with screwed-up people is; do you want your screwed-up relationship to change?

A lot of people answer yes.

But what they mean is they want it to work if the other person will change.

If they don’t have to forgive.

And if they are paid back for all they have lost.

As we’ve seen, that’s not the way it works.

There are things you must do to make it work.

And if it is never what you dreamed of, there are things to do to help you cope and keep you going.

If you are ready to do what it takes to make your relationship work or cope if it doesn’t, you may want to take the pledge.

Tomorrow, we will post the pledge.

Today Dan and I will be continuing on the book; ten-minute relaxation, For mind and body by Jennie Harding.

Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are with you at all times; your senses.

This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.

Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!

Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy; meditation.

By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes.

CHAPTER 2; THE SENSORY JOURNEY

SIGHT COLOR IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT-

If like many people, you work in an office environment where white walls, gray carpets and fluorescent lighting are the norm.

And spend your time staring into a computer, then the visual information your brain is receiving will not be varied.

This accounts for feelings of boredom and frustration in the space.

In Scandinavia, there are examples of large corporations like banks where efforts have been made to introduce living plants, flowing water and color schemes from nature.

Such as soft greens and golds, in order to make the work environment pleasant and supportive to staff.

You may not have any say in how your workplace is designed.

But perhaps you can introduce a few colored items into your own area.

Like a plant, a favorite picture, things you can look at to rest your eyes.

Tomorrow, color in your home-

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.

If you would like to follow with us; hash tag words #walk, #meditation #Qigong on the right of the main blog page.

CONNECTIONS

Connections with other people affect not only the quality of our lives but also our survival. #connections#otherpeople#people#affect#qualitytime#ourlives#oursurvival

Until Monday, we don’t even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward. In times of tragedy, of war, of necessity, people do amazing things.

The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome.
