RECAPPING THIS WEEK ON GRATITUDE AND THE NEW SERIES, HOW THOUGHTS AFFECT OUR HEALTH/BODY? AND CONTINUING ON THE SERIES; GRATITUDE AND HOW IT CHANGES OUR BRAIN TO BE HAPPIER. PLUS, THE BOOK TEN-MINUTE RELAXATION FOR MIND AND BODY.

Hello Followers,

Welcome to Sunday!

As November is coming to an end, let us give thanks and start celebrating a new month.

As we go into the Christmas mood, our mind-body connection is far more powerful.

And this leads us to our new series, how thoughts affect our body/health?

Spending a moment in meditation each morning is one of the best things you can do for your health and well-being.

Even if only for ten minutes, it is an investment of time you’ll never regret.

By starting your day on the right track, it makes it that much easier to get yourself back on track whenever life goes off the rails.

The Benefits of Meditation-

1. Meditation deepens your connection to yourself on a physical, mental, and spiritual level.

2. Meditation helps to release suppressed emotions by giving you space to reset.

3. Meditation enhances our overall health and wellbeing by increasing positive emotions and improving immune function.

Studies have also shown that when we work on our emotional awareness and self-compassion, we can experience a healthier response to rejection, improve eating behaviors, and effectively manage weight loss.

No matter your struggle, success always begins with a positive frame of mind.

Perspective is everything!

NOVEMBER 27th, Dan, and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about November that is so significant during this month?

Turtle Adoption Day – November 27, 2022

Dan and I picked this holiday today to celebrate, for Heckle our turtle is both our favorite friend.

Seven years ago, I adopted Heckle from a Mexican Pet Store when living there.

A lot of Gringo’s that were living there had dogs, so I wanted to be different and brought home a turtle.

When we moved back to the states, we made Heckle legal and papers were drawn up and he became American.

Turtle Adoption Day is observed every November 27.

This is a day of action for the protection of endangered reptiles, most especially the wellbeing of turtles.

There are a few reasons turtles can be adopted.

Turtles live for a very long time, and often people find them hard work.

Some turtles are the innocent victims of divorce, death, owners relocating, etc.

Having a turtle as a pet is a long-term commitment because they live for a long time.

Their upkeep is also costly.

So, finding out as much as possible on Turtle Adoption Day, is important.

Turtles are reptiles that are found all over the world.

There is scarcely any country in the world that doesn’t serve as a habitat for turtles.

Turtles are endangered species of animals often hunted by humans and suffer from a threatened habitat.

Some conservationists believe that turtles belong in the wild.

However, turtles released into the wild without being prepared properly, can become a menace or cause sicknesses.

They may grow massive and cause damage to the ecosystem.

Moreover, their chance of survival in the wild is slim.

Some people purchase them as baby turtles, treating them like mini turtles until they grow.

Adopting rescued turtles as pets is a good way to prevent dangers that pose a crisis to this species.

Turtles can be found in almost all climates around the world, and have their habitat on every continent except Antarctica, known for its freezing climate.

Most turtle species are found in South Asia and southeastern North America, while only five species can be found in Europe.

Turtles spend most of their time in the water.

Freshwater turtles live in ponds and lakes.

They come to land to bask in the sun.

Sea turtles spend most of their time in the ocean, coming ashore to lay eggs on the sand.

Turtle Adoption Day is known as a day for the protection of endangered reptiles, specifically, the turtles.

This special day appears to have been brought to life by a woman named Christine Shaw, who put out an article on the website of Found Animals, campaigning for the support for the welfare of turtles on November 15, 2011.

Turtle Adoption Day was first celebrated two days after the article was posted.

Grateful people sleep better.

Writing in a gratitude journal improves sleep, according to a 2011 study published in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being.

Spend just 15 minutes jotting down a few grateful sentiments before bed, and you may sleep better and longer.

Tomorrow, we will explore the sixth of seven scientifically proven benefits!

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes, one quote and share with you.

Today is:

IF YOU FIND SOME HAPPINESS INSIDE YOURSELF, YOU’LL START FINDING IT IN LOT OF OTHER PLACES TOO.

Today Dan and I will be continuing the book, Ten-Minute Relaxation, For Mind and Body by Jennie Harding.

Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are always with you; your senses.

This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.

Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!

Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy, meditation.

By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes.

CHAPTER 2; THE SENSORY JOURNEY; TOUCH

TOUCH THE ESSENCE OF CARE-

Touch is at the heart of our daily experiences; from the moment we wake to the moment we sleep.

Getting dressed, caring for our families, preparing food, eating, working, traveling; everything we do involves coming into direct contact with places and people through the sense of touch.

Sometimes that contact is pleasurable, comfortable, or intriguing.

Sometimes it is unpleasant, even painful.

When we are in physical discomfort, our nerve receptors send that message through to the brain incredibly quickly.

Touch is highly sensitive and influences our direct experience of life.

Continue tomorrow-

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.
