Hello Followers,

Happy Sunday!

Do you see yourself as a victim or as a warrior (hero)?

As we go through life it can repress, you are reframing you; the important thing to remember is that you can change.

The difference between a warrior and a victim is that the victim represses and the warrior reframes.

When you take steps to change, to reframe and be in charge of your present and your future you're being heroic.

This is when you believe in yourself and either you work to be free or you remain a captive of your problems and situation.

There is life after survival!

AUGUST – 7th, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about August that’s so significant during this month?

This goes out to my daughter, Danielle and her family.

American Family Day – August 7, 2022

American Family Day on the first Sunday in August, on August 7 this year, is a time for, you guessed it, family.

More specifically, this day celebrates the bonds that laid the foundation for our lives, be it blood or otherwise.

Unlike other holidays, however, this day discourages gift-giving, unless your present is the gift of time.

The makers of this day intended for it to be all about the relationships built in a family, and cherishing them in person.

Historically, many cultures have been patriarchal.

While this practice continued in Roman times, women were given slightly more freedom than before, although they were still not free to manage their own affairs.

By the time we reached the Middle Ages, two distinct family patterns began to emerge in Europe.

In the southern and eastern parts of Europe, marriage between an older male and a younger female was common.

Both would typically live with their parents for a long time, and their combined household would contain several generations of people.

In Northwestern Europe, couples were usually of the same age and would wait until their early 20s to marry.

They would then set up their independent household as a precursor to the nuclear family.

The Industrial Revolution brought about a change in family units, although some historians believe that this change had already begun before this period.

The previous joint or extended family broke up because people, mainly the unmarried youth; left their homes to work at industrial facilities.

The male-female dynamic in the home also changed.

Equality between the sexes gained more ground, and gender roles began to blur.

The concept of the family today is both a physical and a mental structure and consists of familial and emotional bonds.

This day has its beginnings in a one-year proclamation, which was signed by then-Governor of Arizona Raúl Héctor Castro.

This proclamation declared August 7 as American Family Day.

Many sources credit Arizona resident John Makkai as the force behind this legislation, although not much more is known about how this happened.

The year after the proclamation, the new Governor Bruce Babbitt signed this day into law as an official Arizona holiday.

This makes American Family Day the 14th state-recognized holiday in Arizona.

Burgeoning interest spread this holiday to North Carolina, then Georgia, and, now, all of America celebrates this day each year.

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

Today is:

LEARNING TO LIVE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT BRINGS ABOUT A SHIFT IN OUR BEHAVIOR. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY POWERFUL AND LIFE-ALTERING EXPERIENCE.

CHAPTER 18; SEE THE POSSIBILITIES-

FAITH RECOGNIZES THAT I MAKE A DIFFERENCE-

Faith changes you, even as it enables you to encourage, support, uphold, and respect others with whom you have a difficult relationship.

Faith also enables you to let go, if necessary; of that relationship.

Being deeply rooted nourishes you when the turmoil embroils and exhausts your body, mind and soul.

Faith does help, it is healthy faith.

There’s no question; what you believe will make a difference in the difference you make.

Today Dan and I will be continuing on the book; ten-minute relaxation, For mind and body by Jennie Harding.

Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are with you at all times; your senses.

This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.

Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!

Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy; meditation.

By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes

CHAPTER 1; WHAT IS STRESS?

DIFFERENT TYPES OF STRESS-

As a human being, you are made up of your body, your mind, and your emotions.

Your body takes you through the world.

Your mind interprets your experiences.

Your emotions are the feelings you receive as a result of events.

Body, mind and emotions are all connected to each other and affect each other as well as working individually.

Stress-related symptoms can surface in any of these three at any time, it is also true that often one area in particular dominates our reactions to stress.

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.
