RECAPPING THIS WEEK ON REMEMBER TO CELEBRATE MILESTONES AS YOU PREPARE FOR THE ROAD AHEAD AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE HERBS – ASHWAGANDHA, ASTRAGALUS.
Hello Followers,
Are you enjoying the long week-end?
As I woke up this morning to the smell of fresh coffee, a thought came over me; wrapping up on creating milestones and how it effects our health.
Some people already find goal setting difficult, so what more if they have to set milestones?
To define milestones also means to progress toward your larger goals.
Defining milestones on your own may not be easy at first, but you can start with the 9 tips that Dan and I have been posting in previous post.
And remember, personal growth is important.
Rewarding yourself for your achievements, whether that’s learning a new skill, finding a new job, or, starting a family can led to your next step forward.
Why?
Because celebrating small goals can help encourage you to achieve larger ones.
For example, if you want to learn a new language, don’t forget to acknowledge yourself for hitting daily or weekly studying targets.
Daily celebrations can be as simple as indulging in a piece of your favorite cocoa, where a weekly recognition could involve ordering organic lunch from your favorite restaurant.
When we were in Mexico, Dan was learning Spanish.
Every time he would advice on Duo Lingo app, we would celebrate for he had learned 500 Spanish words.
That is impressive for being in the 60’s and just starting a new language.
Celebrating milestones also helps reinforce positive behaviors and attitudes, both of which are important when tackling a new task or challenge.
Whether you’re celebrating with co-workers because your team landed a big client, with classmates after finishing a tough semester, or with your partner after getting through the first few weeks of being a new parent, acknowledging milestones can help nudge you toward future successes.
Wow its JUNE – 3rd day, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about July that’s so significant during this month?
NATIONAL HOP-A-PARK DAY – July 3, 2022
I picked this holiday, for Dan and I visit a park at least three days a week.
In keeping our health up, we walk at least 2 miles three to four days a week and what better place to walk then in a park.
Especially here in Virginia, the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Park visitations experience a hike on National Hop-A-Park Day, celebrated every first Saturday in July.
This year, it falls today.
On this day, thousands of people visit their community or favorite parks to relax, have fun, and get a better view of the beauties of nature packed up there.
It is a day that big parks organize special sporting or leisure events for visitors and encourage those who don’t go to parks to start.
With the holiday celebration, there isn’t a better day park executives and visitors relish more.
Central Park comes to mind, but cities are spending time and money to create or upgrade their parks.
The evolution of parks spans over a thousand years.
However, it is in the last 200 years that they started taking the form we see today.
In the 1800s, many renowned parks were created.
Dan and I last year visited the National Bridge, Virginia.
I was so impressed, the first thing that came to my mind was the National Geographic Magazine.
Today, we have different types of parks, including national, public, and pocket parks.
All of these parks have one thing in common, they offer recreational services and access to greenery.
Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.
Today is:
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, AND THE REST WILL FALL INTO PLACE. HAVE FAITH IN YOUR OWN ABILITIES, WORK HARD, AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CANNOT ACCOMPLISH.
RECAPPING THIS WEEK ON REMEMBER TO CELEBRATE MILESTONES AS YOU PREPARE FOR THE ROAD AHEAD AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE HERBS – ASHWAGANDHA, ASTRAGALUS.
Your path has not been determined. You shall have more experiences and pass many more milestones.
You need to have goals, create milestones and have a strategy in place to set yourself up for success.
Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.
Goals are dreams with deadlines.
If a goal is worth having, it's worth blocking out the time in your day-to-day life necessary to achieve it.
Set realistic goals, keep re-evaluating, and be consistent.
Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving toward your goals.
Continuing from last year the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown.
Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy.
A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 17; WHEN YOU WANT TO HELP
THE WRONG KIND OF HELP IS WORSE THAN NO HELP AT ALL-
Whatever your particular situation, ask yourself; am I doing anything to encourage the other person to change?
If you want something to be different, you must do something differently or the patterns become locked.
When our motivation is saving someone, somehow keeping them from hearing the consequences of their actions, we are creating an unhealthy dependency.
When parents try to prevent every bump and bruise, they cripple their child who begins to fear walking on their own.
The same holds true for your reaching out to help someone, do it gingerly; as you encourage steps toward independence.
Tomorrow, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO BE DIFFERENT, YOU MUST DO SOMETHING DIFFERENTLY.
Continuing on the herb; ASTRAGALUS and the benefits, It’s the last herb from the book ALCHEMY OF HERBS by Rosalee De La Foret.
Astragalus has such a mildly sweet flavor.
Astragalus acts as an anti-inflammatory.
Inflammation is at the root of most diseases.
From arthritis to heart disease, it’s often the culprit of the damage.
Many studies show that thanks to its saponins and polysaccharides, astragalus can reduce inflammatory response in connection to a number of illnesses and conditions, from helping to heal wounds and lesions to reducing inflammation in diabetic kidney disease.

Until Monday; July 4th, the trouble with not having a goal is that you
can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.
