Simple things in life are the most difficult to last forever. Learn to appreciate them for them to stay.

Hello followers,

It is the weekend!

Wow, the last Saturday of January.

Dan and I cannot believe that a month as gone by since Christmas.

But Dan and I love our Saturdays.

Weekends are great.

Do you love them as much as Dan and me?

We have lots of memories spending quality time with our family and friends by going out with them.

I can still remember going out on our first date, which was to the state fair on a weekend in February.

Saturdays was the best time to indulge ourselves after a long week of work.

Saturday, please stay.

We all know how important it is to have a positive attitude.

We’re taught to look at the world as a half-full glass, rather than a half-empty one.

There’s good reason to adopt this mindset.

Studies show that if you express gratitude, it raises your happiness by 25%.

When you take a moment to give thanks for what you have, instead of ruminating on what you don’t have, it fills you up.

If gratitude is so good for your mental and emotional health, then why do so many people struggle to practice it?

As humans, we are hardwired to dwell or fixate on the bad.

Psychologists have found that negative events have a greater impact on our brains than positive ones, referred to as the negative bias.

As a result, a lot of people tend to move farther away from gratitude, which is an essential precursor to happiness.

“If you concentrate on what you have, you’ll always have more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you’ll never have enough.”

This new year Dan and I will be continuing the book, Ten-Minute Relaxation, For Mind and Body by Jennie Harding, until the end.

Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are always with you; your senses.

This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.

Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!

Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy, meditation.

By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes.

CHAPTER 2; THE SENSORY JOURNEY; HEARING

MUSIC FOR BODY AND SOUL

SOUND TREATMENT/TEN-MINUTE EXERCISE

This is very relaxing to do, and you do not need to bring the house down.

Chant at a pitch that is comfortable to your voice and do not strain.

Sit comfortably with your hands resting on your lap.

As you chant each vowel, starting at “a” visualize the part of the body that links to it

You are giving yourself a sound treatment.

Chant each vowel three times a, e, i, o, u.

Notice how the sounds make you feel as you chant them.

Then breath gently and relax.

Exercising your voice is a way of releasing your personal sound and the more you do it, the more you may find you want to sing.

It is a marvelous group activity, whether you tackle great choral works or simple chants and songs; sharing your voice with others is a wonderful way to feel the beneficial and uplifting power of sound.

In Africa, no traditional village ceremony is complete without songs, many of which have deeply sacred meaning and involve the whole community.

Tomorrow, CHAPTER 3; INTUITION/SIX SENSE

As Dan and I start a new year; we will be posting daily 365 morning meditations for joyful days all year long.

The book is SUNRISE GRATITUDE by Emily Silva.

January 28th

WE CAN NOT WAIT FOR OTHER PEOPLE’S validation to move forward.

The power to make something happen lies within each of us.

When we acknowledge our inner source of power, great things occur.

You have the ability to create, and you do not need anyone’s permission or approval to act.

When we create an expectation about how another person will act, we set ourselves up for disappointment and in turn become frozen as we wait.

Trust yourself and move forward.

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.

If you would like to follow with us; hash tag words #walk, #meditation #Qigong on the right of the main blog page.

Until Sunday, the love you give to your family is precious, but the security, care,

love in return which we get is priceless. Applaud it every day.
